Little Bit About How we came to BEE...
Not everyone can say they started working and raising honey bees at 11 years old, but for Tim Stewart that was his story. He started out learning how to keep honey bees from his Father. His first hive was a swarm he collected from under a mailbox. They say true beekeepers are the ones that learn to keep one hive, get bees into their blood, and it stays in their blood for lifetime. A beekeeper for life in love with everything about the bee industry. Tim is one of those beekeepers. Tim Stewart took to learning and growing in the beekeeper world. In 2009, Stewart's Apiaries was established. In 2013, after graduating high school, Tim started shipping his honey bees, 150 at the time, to Florida during the winter months to keep them growing. With patience, hard work, and being a continuous learner, the number of colonies grew. In 2015, Stewart's Apiaries started shipping their bees to California for almond pollination and by 2018 the company was managing 1700 hives. Since then the company has grown to 2,000 plus hives and has future goals for reaching 5,000 in the next year or so. We also started running our own queen yard with roughly 400 nucs to produce queens and 5 frame nucs that are both offered for purchase to beekeepers or possible future new-Bees. We have a very close knit team. We like to think of our co-workers similar to how honey bees interact with one another in a hive. We have team goal in mind, are all extremley hardworking, keep the communication open, and provide the best products as the end result. We all rely on one another just like a hive functions with honey bees relying on each other for their indivdual roles that when all combined lead to the hives success. We produce high quality floral source honeys that we enjoying being able to offer to our customers. We also have expanded into a niche market of infusing honey to offer products with even more benefits to our customer base. And if you don't like the stick running honey, check out our creamed honey perfect for spreading across crackers or toast with less the mess. |
